In addition to TYPSY GYPSY and BEN "SWAMP DONKEY" BRENNER featured on the previous page, pictured above are contestants from the 2018 International Blues Challenge held at Little Rock's Thirst N Howl.  The competition was very high quality and no easy task for judges Steve O'Dell, Pat Howell and Glen "Doc" Adkins.  At top left is Lil Skinny and the Roosters featuring the future of blues Ethan Kuntz on guitar and vocals, young prodigy Peyton Shipp playing drums and veteran musician Michael Shipp mentoring these young fellas and playing bass. Lyle Walton is the center picture. Lyle is a longstanding supporter of the local blues scene and has experience as an IBC representative of the Buffalo River Blues Society in the past.  Top right features Mike Goldman of Little Rock.  Mike played a formidable set which was tough to top. He can be found in various local venues in various ensembles from solo/duo to bands.  Bottom left is Rodger King and Richard Reynolds.  This combination of fine players is something to experience.  Rodger has immense songwriting talent and his unique stylized instrumentation on guitar and fine vocals accompanied by Richard's tasty harmonica fills makes for quite a professional act. The bottom right photo is father and son duo Jeremiah and Carey Griffin.  Carey is longtime supporter of ARBS dating back to the old Juanita days.  His guitar prowess compliments the well-trained vocal talents of son, Jeremiah, who also displays fine guitar skills. It was evident that any of these acts are capable of representing ARBS in fine fashion.  The judges sure had their hands full in selecting the top acts for 2018 without question.  Much appreciation is given to these fine musicians for their participation and support.
